Call to Prayer
Given the news that there's going to be a 100 episode Star Wars television series, I'd like to ask the readers of this blog to join me in a prayer:
That is, unlike you like the prospect of 5 seasons worth of Jar Jar Binks.
Oh, God, or Zarquon, or the Lords of Kobol, any deity from Xena or Hercules, or even the Flying Spaghetti Monster, please keep George Lucas from writing, directing, editing, producing, or heck, even watching the new Star Wars show. I have a hard enough time watching the original trilogy thanks to what he did, especially with the dialogue in Episode III. I want this to be good, I want it to be epic, and I want to love it as much as Babylon 5, Stargate, and Battlestar Galactica put together. So if you could find a way to make George take up macrame as his life's calling or something, that would be great. Amen.
That is, unlike you like the prospect of 5 seasons worth of Jar Jar Binks.
Amen!
All rise...

All we can hope for is that it will be another million dollar blunder like Spielbergs attempt to redo the Twilight Zone for TV. Which lasted all of two seasons.

Eugene, actually Spielberg did the Twilight Zone movie, which I'll agree with you was a blunder - his TV series attempt was 'Amazing Stories'. Don't know who was the driving force behind the 2 season attempt at remaking 'The Twilight Zone', if you're talking about the 2002-2003 version. But, you're missing my point - I don't want this to fail, I want it to succeed - if only because it means one less hour of programming time for another 'Who Wants to Be an American Idol Rockstar Dancing With The Stars And Living The Surreal Life With Big Brother Surviver'-style reality programming. That's why I want Lucas to stay away from them - there can be good television made from the Star Wars Universe, check out the 'Clone Wars' cartoon sometime - but not if Lucas gets his clumsy fingers into the directing, or god forbid, the dialogue.
