Stephen Harper vs. Ralph Klein

It looks like it is going to come down to a cage match between Ralph Klein and Stephen Harper over health care. Is that a sick thing to write, or what?

Klein has thrown down the gauntlet, proposing a mixed private/public health care system in Alberta. The fact is, with a projected surplus of $10 billion, he could very well tell the federal government to stuff their healthcare transfer and do whatever he wants. Doing so might or might not fly in even Conservative Alberta, so his final decision should be interesting.

Stephen Harper, for his part, has already forsaken his NCC roots, at least in public, and promises that he will not support a parallel private/public system, setting up the battle lines.

Save us, Stephen, save us!

We need the NDP more than ever now!

King Ralph's two tier health care will shorten your wait times for medical care. If you happen to have the money to pay for a doctor to fix you ahead of those who can't afford it. Everyone else can look forward to more time in the waiting room.
