Oh Well, At Least They Beat Turkey


As the linked article shows, a recent study of 34 countries shows the United States placing 33rd in belief in evolution. Best quote:
“American Protestantism is more fundamentalist than anybody except perhaps the Islamic fundamentalist, which is why Turkey and we are so close,” said study co-author Jon Miller of Michigan State University.

This is bad news for the US. They can hardly maintain their dominant status in the world without educated people. Having a such large number of people steeped in Dark Age superstition when all other advanced countries aren't like that smacks of decadence to me.

Even scarier, where the heck is Canada?

That got some mention in the comments section of the original article, Jennifer - I suspect Canada would place fairly highly in the rankings, certainly in the range of the European nations.
