Big Surprise - Sylvia Browne's Boviturdinous!
Every so often, people will ask me what I have against psychics - 'it's harmless fun', they'll say, 'you have to keep an open mind - they're only trying to help..."
To these people I offer this video as rebuttal - a piece from CNN's Anderson Cooper on famed psychic Sylvia and the 'help' she offered the parents of Shawn Hornbeck, the boy who has just been found very much alive after being missing for over 4 years - help which could be had at the low, low fee of $700 an hour...
Update: I've amended the title to reflect Flash's excellent new word meaning 'full of bulls**t'. Also, in the comments, Mike points out this article on James Randi's site which shows that psychic James Van Praagh also weighed in on this case, with a similar lack of success.

Dan,
Sometimes I think you post things just to test my blood pressure. :)
Question to the group: What is so different between asking $700 for bullshit about the afterlife and offering after-life insurance via a church?
Answer: church donations are tax-deductible.

LOL,
Good one Kev. If you go to Randi's site, you'll see James Van Praagh has been upto no good too. These people should be charged with fraud.

Well, at least with a donation to the church there's a possibility that some of the money will make ti to the less fortunate - although I suppose you could argue that giving money to Sylvia will ultimately help people like her gardener and maid by allowing them to buy forged Green Cards...
Yeah, I've always maintained that people like these should be sued for fraud - I'd also like to see people like Montel Williams and Larry King charged with aiding and abetting by giving these people a forum...
Fortunately, from looking at Randi's site, he's amending his $1,000,000 Challenge to make it more pro-active in going after celebrity psychics like these 2.
